150 Years of the Cutty SarkOn Monday 22 November 1869, 150 years ago, the Cutty Sark, one of the world’s most famous historic ships, was launched in Scotland. Our new exhibition celebrates the Cutty Sark’s time moored in the town.
PorthlevenRunning until September This show focuses on the ancestry of several prominent Porthleven families, linked to the construction of the dock, boatbuilding, fishing and net-making.
James Dodds’ Wood to WaterUntil February 2021. This exhibition of paintings of traditional boats of Falmouth showcases the work of artist James Dodds. It includes several new commissions including a Falmouth Pilot cutter which will be the largest painting James has ever undertaken.Through our exhibitions programme we aspire to bring new and diverse perspectives to maritime issues, and highlight their relevance to the present day. We also bring rare objects from around the world to Cornwall to tell local, national and international stories.
Your admission fee is reinvested back into the museum to enhance and grow our work, which also includes our family learning activities; our award winning education programmes; our boat building and conservation; and our work to preserve and promote Cornwall’s maritime heritage.
